Celebrate National Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day with Organic Dog Treats!

Oh, hi again! Big Daddy here. My mama and I are soooooo excited, because we have two very special things to be celebrating today! First of all, did you know today is my Mama’s and my favorite holiday ever? It’s National Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day! Can you guess why we love it so much? And dog treats have come a long, long way. Did you know that humans used to try to give us rocks and gross bread for a “treat”? As if. Us dogs only want healthy dog treats that taste delicious, too. And all of my Mama’s treats are healthy, delicious, and organic. Perfect for good boys like me, and good girls, too.

To celebrate this momentous holiday, I want all of you dogs out there reading this to have your humans take a picture of you with your favorite Big Daddy Biscuit treats, especially if you have some of our new and amazing FURtune Cookies™ and post it on something called “Instagram.” My Mama says to use something called a hashtag and it should look like this: #NationalDogBiscuitDay. I don’t know what a hashtag or Instagram is, but I do know it’s important to share your love for biscuits with friends on this very special holiday and to remind them to celebrate with their favorite treats, too.

Oh, speaking of Instagram, my Mama says the next announcement has something to do with it. I bet you’ve heard of my pal Barkley, who is such a good, smart, boy that he has his own Instagram thing @barkleydoodles! He’s so cool, he also has his own website. My Mama says he is going to be our new “Brand Ambassador” for our biscuits, and you may have seen him modeling with some of our biscuits already. How cool is that? Now I don’t know what that means, but I mean, it sounds pretty great, right? So in honor of National Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day and the announcement of Barkley being our new ambassador, I decided to give him a call to ask him some questions to learn a little bit more about him, and so he could tell all of my fans all about himself, too.

BD: So, Barkley, what do you love most about Big Daddy (that’s me) Biscuits?
B: Not only are BDB made with organic and natural ingredients like yummy organic crunchy peanut butter (which my sensitive tummy LOVES), they’re also super tasty too! There are so many yummy flavors and fun combinations to try, that you never get bored! I’m still drooling all over the floor whenever Mum gets a new treat out for me!

BD: How long have you been enjoying my biscuits? Do you have a favorite?
B: I’ve been a big fan ever since Big Mama met my Mum at the Pup Culture Festival last Summer. My parents instantly became a fan of BDB when they found out that Big Mama made everything from scratch and sourced most of the ingredients locally to support other small businesses. We’ve been hooked ever since! My new fave treats are the adorable Furtune Cookies™ that Big Mama invented to celebrate the Year of The Dog. I’m obsessed!

BD: How do you like being an “ambassador” so far?

B: I’m so honored to be a dog ambassador for such a PAWsome local business! I also love knowing that they give back to the local community to support pups in need too, which is incredible! Of course, there are huge perks to the job…like a never-ending supply of my fave treats AND early taste tests of Big Mama’s newest healthy treat concoctions! I’m the luckiest pup in town!

BD: So that’s where all the extra treats have been going and who I’ve been sharing them with — that’s OK, I guess, you seem like a good boy, too. But anyway, what is your favorite toy?
B: Oooooh, that’s a tough one! I’m a big fan of Zippypaws fun toys…as well as the Bark Shop collections (they’re both amazing at dreaming up the cutest designs). But my absolute fave is my squishy, spiky rubber ball! I could chew and play fetch with that thing for hours and never get bored!

BD: Hm, that sounds pretty interesting. I’d love to see that squishy spiky ball of yours. So now that we know your favorite toys, what’s your favorite thing to do with your mom and dad?
B: Aside from cuddling up on the sofa (duh!), we love to go to the dog park at Piedmont Park on the weekends and then run around the main park afterward! They bring along my fave BDB treats for training there too. I’m one tired (and full) pupper for the rest of the day after that!

BD: You seem pretty cool. Do you want to be my best friend? Why haven’t we met in person yet?
B: I’ve still not had the pleasure of meeting the legend himself, you, but I’ve heard SO MANY wonderful stories about you from Big Mama! I hope to meet you as soon as I can control my crazy pup excitement outbursts! I’m working on it, I promise! That’s why we haven’t met dog-to-dog yet, but I think we’d be best friends!

Boy, Barkley sounds like a pretty awesome dog, don’t you think? I can’t wait to meet him in person one day and to share his spiky ball with him and some delicious treats. Well, that’s all for me for now, I want to get out of here so I can celebrate my favorite holiday. Enjoy your treats everyone!

Happy National Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day!
